Mattie Galvez

Mary Mattie Galvez, 89, of Clifton, Colorado, passed away July 5, 2021, at home with family surrounding her and church songs being sung to her.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 69 years, Jack Galvez. She was also preceded in death by four of her children, Emzy, Eugene, Jack, and Miriam Galvez. She is survived by her remaining daughters, Julie Allen and Shirley Wright. Mattie is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

Mattie lived a long happy life fully devoted to her family and God. Nothing made her more happy than to be a mother and grandmother and to pray the rosary and go to church.

There will be a rosary held on July 19, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held July 20, at 11:00 a.m., on what would have been her 90th birthday. Both will be at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Grand Junction with internment to follow at Orchard Mesa Cemetery. Lunch will be provided at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church after her internment.
