Sharon Renner passed away at her home on December 15th at the age of 81. Sharon was born to Lloyd Miller and Fannie Godding-Miller in Wilbur, Nebraska. She lived in Grand Junction in the late 1960s and 1970s, when she was known as Sharon Martin, and returned to live in Grand Junction again this year to be close to her son. Sharon is survived by her husband, Herb Renner. Also surviving her are her children, Sheryll Minteer-Abernathy and Mark Minteer, her step children, Glen Renner and Roxanne Schrader, nine grandchildren (who called her "Pink Grandma," after her favored color choice), and sixteen great grandchildren.
Sharon was an accomplished artist, and contributed daily to the building of her former home on the lower slopes of Mt. Simcoe in Washington. The home was completed 25 years ago, and she lived in that beautiful setting until returning to Grand Junction with her husband this year. Sharon and Herb recently joined Valley Church in Grand Junction, and they loved their new church family there. A celebration of Sharon's life will be scheduled for the spring, when her grandchildren can attend.
