Steve Clyde Barela, 65, of Grand Junction, passed away on September 28, 2018 at St. Mary's Hospital.
Born under a Palisade peach tree; he was a very brave, proud, happy and outgoing man. He met his wife, Tracy Hearon-Barela, of 32 years, when mutual friends, love at first sight and steak breakfast brought them together; they were inseparable.
They brought a beautiful daughter into this world, Carol Barela, where he and his wife lived, in his last days, along with granddaughters: Maria and Angelina; and soon to be born grandson, Davion.
In his time on this earth, with us, he has survived may tribulations, including: three foster homes and a work-related fall where he shattered both of his legs.
He had two children prior to this time in his life: Gerald Barela and Beverly Barela(deceased), as well as three granddaughters: Marissa, Marina and Mariah; he also had an adopted daughter, Laura Rosado, and two grandsons.
He was loved and respected, by many, and will be deeply missed. Services will be Sunday October 7, 2018 at 2PM at his home 582 29 1/2 Rd.
