Valerie "Sandra" Soto

On Thursday, February 2, 2023, Valerie Sandra Soto, loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away at the age of 72.

Sandra was born on March 31, 1950, in Walsenburg, CO, to Evaristo Martinez and Annie Vigil. Sandra received her diploma in Montrose, Colorado, through the Colorado Continuing Education Program.

Sandra loved her family and served as a caregiver for many of her nieces and nephews. She gave her heart to the Lord at a young age and had a passion for worshipping God. She served faithfully at Junction Community Church for many years as the secretary and on the worship team. She loved her Saturday routine which included breakfast at Golden Corral and walking the mall with her grandbabies. Drinking hot coffee while having heart-to-heart conversations with those she loved was a favorite pastime.

Sandra was preceded in death by her mother and father, and her sisters, Nettie Estrada and Esther Trent. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Andrew and Dianna Martinez, grandchildren, Andrew Jr. and Vanessa, brothers, Paul Martinez and Frank Martinez, and sisters, Virginia Garcia and Mary Ann Garcia, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services will be held on Friday, March 3, at 11:00 AM, at Junction Community Church, located at 2867 Orchard Ave., Grand Junction, CO, 81501.
